Sculptra in Honolulu
Sculptra is an injectable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) treatment used to improve selected facial wrinkles and areas of contour loss. Instead of creating a fully visible result in one visit, it supports a gradual response as the treated area develops new collagen over time.
At Infinity Life Center, treatment begins with an individualized assessment of your facial structure, medical history, prior procedures and goals. Your clinician should explain where Sculptra is appropriate, what improvement may be realistic and whether the proposed use is FDA-approved or off-label.
What Is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a biodegradable injectable implant containing tiny PLLA particles. FDA-approved aesthetic uses include correction of shallow to deep nasolabial folds and other facial wrinkles in adults with healthy immune systems, as well as fine lines and wrinkles in the cheek region.
How Does Sculptra Work?
Sculptra is placed into or beneath the skin in multiple small injections. The reconstituted product and normal post-injection swelling can create an early change, but that initial fullness subsides. As the PLLA particles break down, the body may produce new collagen in the treated area, so visible correction develops gradually over the following weeks.
Benefits and Limitations
Sculptra may gradually soften selected wrinkles and improve facial contour without surgery. It does not produce the same immediate, precisely reversible result as a hyaluronic acid filler, cannot stop facial aging and cannot replace a surgical lift. More than one session may be needed, and outcomes vary with anatomy, the concern treated and individual response.
Botox is a well-established injectable treatment used to soften forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. It temporarily relaxes targeted facial muscles to reduce expression wrinkles while preserving natural facial movement through individualized dosing.
Advertised price is per unit, not per treatment area or completed procedure. Pricing and availability are subject to change.
Total cost depends on the number of units administered, individual facial anatomy, treatment goals, and provider assessment. Additional treatment or follow-up dosing may incur separate charges. Results, onset, and duration vary. Treatment is subject to medical eligibility and provider approval. Pricing and availability are subject to change.
Xeomin is a purified botulinum toxin formulation without accessory complexing proteins. It treats facial expression lines by temporarily relaxing targeted muscles, providing a streamlined alternative to Botox with natural-looking results.
Advertised price is per unit, not per treatment area or completed procedure. Pricing and availability are subject to change.
Final dosage and cost depend on individual anatomy, treatment goals, and provider assessment. Xeomin units are not interchangeable with those of other botulinum toxin products. Additional treatment may incur separate charges. Results and duration vary. Treatment is subject to medical eligibility and provider approval. Pricing and availability are subject to change.
Daxxify uses a peptide-based formulation designed for longer-lasting wrinkle reduction. In clinical studies of frown lines, results lasted approximately six months for many patients, making it an option for those seeking fewer maintenance appointments.
Advertised price is per unit, not per treatment area or completed procedure. Pricing and availability are subject to change.
Total cost depends on individualized dosing and provider assessment. Daxxify units are not interchangeable with those of other botulinum toxin products. Extended duration is not guaranteed; individual results and treatment intervals vary. Additional treatments may incur separate charges. Treatment is subject to medical eligibility and provider approval. Pricing and availability are subject to change.
Dysport temporarily relaxes targeted facial muscles to soften moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. It offers another established treatment option, with dosing tailored to the patient’s anatomy and cosmetic goals.
Advertised price is per unit, not per treatment area or completed procedure. Pricing and availability are subject to change.
Dysport uses product-specific dosing, and its units cannot be compared directly or substituted for Botox, Xeomin, or Daxxify units. Complete the form below to request a Sculptra consultation at Infinity Life Center in Honolulu. The team can review your goals, health history and prior injectable treatments, then discuss candidacy, a realistic treatment series, aftercare and current pricing.
What Happens During Your Office Visit?
Your Sculptra visit follows a careful sequence, from assessment and consent through planned injections and individualized aftercare. Each step is designed around your anatomy, medical history and gradual treatment goals.
Assessment and Consent
Your clinician reviews your goals, medicines, allergies, health history, prior injectables and recent skin or dental procedures. Facial structure and movement are assessed, the proposed areas are discussed and informed consent is completed.
Skin Preparation and Comfort
Makeup is removed and the treatment area is cleansed and may be marked. Topical or local anesthetic may be considered; tell the clinician about any allergy to lidocaine or other local anesthetics.
Planned Injections
Sculptra is placed in multiple small amounts using a treatment pattern and depth selected for your anatomy and goal. The clinician monitors your skin and symptoms throughout the procedure.
Review and Aftercare
The area is examined and massaged to help distribute the product. You receive instructions for massage, cooling, activity, sun and heat exposure, warning signs and follow-up before leaving.
Who Is It For?
Sculptra may suit adults with selected facial wrinkles or contour loss who want gradual improvement and understand that a planned series may be needed. It should not be used in people with hypersensitivity to its ingredients, severe allergies or a history or susceptibility to keloids or hypertrophic scars. Treatment may need to be postponed with active sores, rashes, cysts, pimples or infection in the planned area. Tell the clinician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take medicines that suppress the immune system or increase bleeding, have a bleeding disorder, have had prior filler complications, or recently underwent laser treatment, peels, hair removal, dental work or other facial procedures.
Before Your Appointment
Bring a complete list of medicines and supplements and disclose all allergies, immune conditions, bleeding problems, prior injectables and recent procedures. Arrive with clean skin if directed. Follow only the preparation instructions provided for your individual plan. Do not stop aspirin, anticoagulants or any prescribed medicine unless the prescribing clinician approves the change.
Recovery and Aftercare
Redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, itching or temporary lumps can occur after treatment and often improve over several days; some injection-site effects can last two weeks or longer. Follow the specific instructions you receive. FDA patient labeling directs patients to massage the treated area for five minutes, five times a day, for five days; your clinician should demonstrate the technique and tell you if a different plan is appropriate. During the first 24 hours, use a cloth-wrapped cold pack if directed and avoid strenuous exercise, extensive sun or UV exposure and extreme heat or cold.

- Common effects include swelling, redness, pain or tenderness, bruising, itching and temporary lumps.

Sculptra Care with Shayne Phillips, FNP-C
Shayne Phillips is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than seven years of experience in aesthetic and clinical medicine. Her background includes cosmetic injectables, facial rejuvenation, perioperative surgical care and interventional radiology. For Sculptra treatment, she evaluates facial structure, medical history, prior procedures and aesthetic goals, explains the gradual treatment process and product-specific risks, and plans follow-up with an emphasis on safety, proportion and natural-looking change.
Sculptra requires patient treatment planning rather than a one-size-fits-all formula. Shayne reviews the proposed areas, session spacing, expected gradual response and aftercare, then reassesses progress before additional treatment. This careful approach helps avoid chasing temporary swelling or adding product before the result can be evaluated.

Results and Maintenance
Early fullness from water and swelling usually fades within hours to days and is not the final result. Visible improvement develops gradually over several weeks. FDA patient labeling describes a regimen of up to four sessions, commonly about three to four weeks apart. In clinical studies, improvement in some patients persisted for about two years, but duration varies and is not guaranteed. Maintenance is optional and should follow a new assessment of anatomy, prior response and current goals.
What Does Sculptra Cost?
Sculptra cost depends on the number of vials used, the areas treated and whether the recommended plan includes more than one session. Pricing may be quoted per vial, per visit or for a planned series, so request a written estimate that reflects the complete treatment plan rather than comparing one advertised number.
What Your Quote Should Cover
Ask how many vials and sessions are anticipated, which areas are included and whether consultation, follow-up or additional treatment carries a separate charge. The final plan may change after examination or based on your response to an initial session. Ask what is included in your quote.
Why Treatment Planning Matters
Sculptra is designed for gradual correction and should not be overfilled in an attempt to force an immediate result. Product placement, session spacing and reassessment matter as much as the number of vials. Choose a plan based on careful evaluation, clear aftercare and appropriate follow-up—not price alone.
Sculptra FAQ
In clinical studies, improvement in some patients persisted for about two years. Duration varies with the treatment area, starting concern, treatment plan and individual response, so this is not a guarantee of how long your result will last.
Sculptra results are not immediate. Early fullness largely reflects water and swelling and usually fades within hours to days. Visible correction develops gradually over several weeks as the treatment response occurs.
Multiple small injections can cause a brief pinch, stinging or tenderness. Topical or local anesthetic may be considered. Tell your clinician about allergies and discuss comfort measures before treatment.
Many people return to routine activities immediately, but redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising may be visible. Follow the massage and aftercare instructions you receive and allow time before an important event in case visible effects occur.
Common effects include swelling, redness, pain or tenderness, bruising, itching and temporary lumps. Papules, nodules or delayed inflammatory lumps can occur. Accidental injection into a blood vessel can cause skin injury, vision loss or stroke; unusual pain, vision changes, pale or discolored skin, or stroke-like symptoms require immediate medical attention.
FDA patient labeling describes up to four treatment sessions, commonly spaced about three to four weeks apart. Your clinician should reassess the result before each additional session and may recommend a different number or interval based on your response.
Cost depends on the number of vials, treatment areas and whether the plan includes a series. Ask for a written estimate that states what is included and confirm current pricing directly with Infinity Life Center.
Not exactly. Sculptra is an injectable implant and FDA classifies it as a dermal filler, but its PLLA particles support a gradual collagen response. It does not create the same immediate gel-based correction as a hyaluronic acid filler and cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase.
Tell the clinician about severe allergies, prior injectable complications, keloids or hypertrophic scars, medicines, immune conditions, bleeding problems, pregnancy, breastfeeding and active skin problems. Suitability requires an individual clinical assessment, and treatment may need to be avoided or postponed.
