What Is Testosterone Replacement Therapy?
Testosterone is the primary male hormone responsible for muscle mass, bone density, energy, mood, libido, and cognitive sharpness. Starting around age 30, men lose roughly 1% of their testosterone production each year — a gradual decline that often goes unrecognized until the effects are significant.
TRT replenishes testosterone to optimal physiological levels using bioidentical or pharmaceutical-grade testosterone. Unlike a one-size-fits-all approach, TRT at Infinity Life Center is calibrated to your specific labs, symptoms, and health goals — not just to hit a number within a normal range, but to restore how you actually want to feel.
How TRT Works at Infinity Life Center
Every TRT program begins with a comprehensive hormonal and metabolic lab panel. Jayson Watabe, PA-C evaluates not only your testosterone levels — total and free — but also estradiol, DHEA-S, LH, FSH, SHBG, thyroid, cortisol, and metabolic markers. The full hormonal picture matters because no single number tells the complete story.
Testosterone is delivered in the form most appropriate for your physiology and lifestyle: weekly intramuscular or subcutaneous injections, topical gels, or other compounded formats. Protocols are adjusted based on follow-up labs and symptom response — not just whether levels moved, but whether you feel the difference. We also monitor for and manage common downstream effects of TRT including estrogen conversion, hematocrit changes, and where relevant, testicular support via hCG.
Strength & Muscle
Testosterone is the primary driver of lean muscle development and physical recovery. Restoring optimal levels supports better training outcomes and body composition.
Energy & Drive
Chronic fatigue, low motivation, and declining stamina are hallmark symptoms of low testosterone. TRT addresses the hormonal root cause rather than masking symptoms.
Sexual Health
Low testosterone is among the most common underlying contributors to reduced libido and erectile difficulty. Restoring levels often produces meaningful improvement in sexual function and confidence.
Cognitive Clarity
Brain fog, poor focus, and mood instability are frequently tied to hormonal decline. Testosterone plays a direct role in neurological function, emotional regulation, and memory.
Testosterone Injections & Mens Wellness
At Infinity Life Center we are not a testosterone replacement mill. We look at your testosterone replacement therapy as part of a more in depth men’s wellness program of total health. There are many aspects to total optimization of health in men. These include a comprehensive evaluation including health history, a physical exam and looking at exercise patterns. We will also be analyzing your medications, supplements, food intake and other factors.
Testosterone in males is indeed the primary male hormone. it is important in acquiring muscle mass, strength and stamina. It effects your mood and sleep patterns as well as sex life. These enter the our equation to obtain not only normal health, but beyond to optimized health.
All Men Begin To Lose Testosterone
Unfortunately, as males age they lose approximately 1% of their testosterone production per year. So by age 6o most men have lost 30% or more. The percentage of testosterone loss varies of course from individual to individual. Some lose a lot more due to other health conditions and life style. We have seen some male patients with hypogondal changes early and have only 50% of what would be considered normal at age 35. There are other hormones, proteins and metabolites which come into play such as DHEA, Estrogen, LH, and SHBG. These can all effect testosterone levels and production.

State of the Art Testosterone Replacement Therapy
A comprehensive program can have profound effects on your life when taken thoughtfully and with care. Too many “testosterone doctors“ get you in and out, rather than take the time to fully evaluate your need for testosterone and other complementary interventions. State of the art wellness clinics will not only evaluate your testosterone levels but go beyond.
Our Multifactorial Testosterone Therapy
Estrogen Effects
We evaluate your estrogen effects caused by TRT, in that you may require an estrogen blocker such as Tamoxifen, Arimidex or another agent. The reason this is important is that TRT can cause increased levels of estrogen with side effects such as gynecomastia, breast discomfort, cloudy thinking and even water retention. Though rare these conditions can be a direct result of excess estrogen. We must balance this with the very good benefits of TRT when needed.
Testicular Shrinkage
Though not common, TRT can lead to testicular atrophy since they do not have to work as hard to maintain testosterone levels. If you don’t use it you can lose it. This can lead to lower sperm counts and other issues. We have found that hCG when combined with testosterone therapy can prevent this as well as reverse some of the changes. This is well known to body builders who have been on too much “juice”. Proper balance of these therapies is done by state of the art clinics, where many do not even know of this.
Medical Monitoring
TRT can have some side effects and that is why its best to have an experienced health care professional monitor your progress. This will include laboratory blood test every 3 to 6 months or as needed. We will start off the initial consultation with required blood test many times paid for by your insurance. Then we will require another test at 4 weeks, 3 months and 6 months to make sure your testosterone levels are optimal and check for unwanted side effects.

Considerations of Testosterone Replacement Therapy
The out of pocket cost for the TRT program at Infinity Life Center will vary depending on your individual circumstances. The initial consultation, if not covered by insurance will be 150.00 dollars and if you receive an initial injection of testosterone the total office visit and injection is 175.00. The men’s wellness monthly TRT program will range in cost from 95.00 to 250.00. Laboratory cost if not covered by insurance are not included in these figures. We will do all we can to keep your cost minimal and maintain quality and safety.
TRT Testosterone Therapy FAQ
Low testosterone symptoms — fatigue, low libido, brain fog, mood changes — can overlap with thyroid dysfunction, sleep apnea, depression, and other conditions. That’s why Infinity Life Center starts with a comprehensive lab panel that goes well beyond total testosterone. Jayson Watabe, PA-C evaluates the full hormonal and metabolic picture before any treatment is considered. A diagnosis is never based on symptoms alone.
Standard lab reference ranges are population averages — a level that technically falls within range can still be significantly below what your body functioned at in its prime. At Infinity Life Center, the goal isn’t to push you to the midpoint of a population chart. It’s to identify the level at which you actually feel and perform well, and calibrate your protocol around that.
Delivery method is chosen based on your physiology, lifestyle, and protocol goals. The most common format is weekly self-administered injections (intramuscular or subcutaneous), which provide consistent, adjustable levels. Topical gels and creams are also available. Each method has different absorption characteristics and maintenance requirements, which your provider will walk you through during your consultation.
Yes — exogenous testosterone suppresses the body’s natural production via the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. This is a known and manageable aspect of TRT. For patients concerned about fertility or testicular atrophy, hCG can be incorporated into the protocol to stimulate natural production alongside TRT. This is discussed during your evaluation so the right approach is built into your plan from the start.
TRT has a well-established safety profile when properly monitored. Key considerations include hematocrit elevation (a thickening of the blood), estrogen conversion, and cardiovascular factors — all of which are tracked through regular lab work. This is precisely why ongoing monitoring is a core part of the program, not an afterthought. The risks of untreated low testosterone — including bone loss, cardiovascular decline, and metabolic deterioration — are also clinically significant.
TRT typically suppresses sperm production because it signals the body to reduce LH and FSH, the hormones that stimulate the testes. For men who are planning to father children, this is an important conversation to have before starting TRT. There are alternative approaches — including clomiphene or hCG-based protocols — that can support testosterone levels while preserving fertility potential. Let your provider know your family planning situation during your initial consultation.
Most patients notice initial improvements in energy and mood within 3–6 weeks. Libido and sexual function typically improve over 3–4 months. Changes in body composition — muscle gain, fat reduction — often become more apparent at the 3–6 month mark as protocols are fine-tuned. The timeline varies depending on your baseline levels, age, lifestyle, and how your body responds to treatment.
Yes, but stopping TRT should be done with medical guidance, not abruptly. Because exogenous testosterone suppresses the body’s own production, discontinuing requires a managed taper and often temporary supportive therapy to help the HPG axis recover. Recovery time and completeness vary by individual. This is another reason why working with an experienced provider — rather than obtaining TRT through an unsupervised source — matters significantly.
Yes. Infinity Life Center offers telehealth visits, which can be appropriate for initial consultations, follow-up reviews, and protocol adjustments. Lab work will still need to be completed at a local draw site. If you are located on a neighbor island or are unable to come in person, contact us to discuss telehealth options for your TRT program.
Online-only TRT mills are optimized for volume — fast signups, minimal evaluation, and standard protocols. At Infinity Life Center, your TRT program is embedded in a broader men’s wellness framework. Your provider evaluates the full hormonal and metabolic picture, accounts for interactions with other conditions or medications, and adjusts your protocol based on how you actually respond — not just whether your numbers hit a target. You’re a patient here, not a subscriber.
